Why this converter is different

A cup of flour, a cup of sugar and a cup of oil do not weigh the same. ChefSolver converts recipe quantities using ingredient-specific density values instead of generic volume assumptions. That means you can paste a recipe, convert cups, tablespoons or teaspoons into grams, adjust servings, and create a prep sheet that is closer to how professional kitchens and precise bakers actually work.

From volumes to weights without losing accuracy

This converter uses ingredient-specific densities. For flours/sugars pick the right form (packed vs loose).

Quick suggestions

  • For liquids, 1 mL ≈ 1 g only for water; oils and syrups weigh less.
  • For leaveners/spices, measure level; small swings alter the outcome.
  • When doubling delicate batters, reduce chemical leaveners ~25% and check doneness earlier.
Quick example 200 g of all-purpose flour ≈ 1.65 US cups (loose). If you pack it, volume drops—use the “packed” option when available.
