Grams to tablespoons (tbsp) — water approximation
Approximate grams to tablespoons using water density (1 g ≈ 1 mL, 1 tbsp = 15 mL). For ingredient-specific results, use the ingredient converter.
These values assume water-like density. Flour, sugar, oil and other ingredients have different densities — use the ingredient-specific converter for precision.
Density note These values use water density as an approximation. For flour, sugar, oil, honey and other ingredients results will differ — use the ingredient-specific pages for precision.

Rough guide only. Works best for water-like liquids; flour, sugar and oil give very different results.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Never use for baking without checking the ingredient-specific page — flour is about 0.43 g/mL, not 1.
- A level tablespoon of flour ≈ 8 g, not 15 g.
Quick example 100 g of water ≈ 6.67 tbsp. But 100 g of flour ≈ 12 tbsp. Always check the ingredient page.
