Why different systems (US, UK, metric) use different values
A US cup (236.588 mL) is not the same as a metric cup (250 mL). Densities vary: 1 cup of flour weighs much less than 1 cup of sugar.
- US cup = 236.588 mL
- Metric cup = 250 mL
- UK cup = 284 mL
